Lip Burning, its Causes, and Consequences

Burning skin is a common factor rather than burning lips. People talk less about lip burning because this burning can’t be identified and confused with other factors.

The lip is delicate and soft in the skin, so the burning occurs here very quickly and unknowingly. And it is a very sensitive part of our body, minor burning may cause lots of irritation and discomfort. Sometimes pain associates to that irritation, if problem accelerates. Burning can happen for several reasons-

1) Sunburn

The ultra violates ray of the sun creates a burning sensation in the lips. The sunburn blisters are small, white, fluid-filled bumps. Lips would be reddish than normal and swollen a little.

2) Smoking

The smoking can create the lip lines along with the lip burning in both sides. The consistent nicotine exposal sometimes may have a bad effect on the lips. The lips may be black and cracked.

3) Touch of Chemical

Girls use lots of cosmetic and these must be branded and of good quality. Because some bad quality chemical can be used to make lipsticks for cheap price and thus this effects a lot to the lips. The lips can be burned and even chapped too.

4) Windburn

Sounds awkward? not only the sunburn causes discomfort, but the windburn also causes the burning in the lips. The lips can be dry and swollen. Inflammation can be irritable.

5) Side Effects of Medicine

Sometimes side effects of specific medications can burn your lips and cause chapped lips. Sometimes it can start bleeding.

What Can be Done During this Burning Sensation?

1) During sunburn, you can use aloe vera leaf in different forms like gel or paste to reduce the discomfort, pain and swollen feelings. It can help the moisturizing of lips too. The cool compress can be the other method to reduce the swollen feature. A cool damp cloth can be used during compressing. It will suit the inflammation and the best use is as early as possible after coming home.

2) Generally, smoking burn can be more than some-what mild problem. There are many topical ointments to treat such types of burn. You can also use other natural remedies if the problem is not severe.

3) In terms of chemical burning, it may take quite a long time to treat the problem. So you may have to use the OTC medicines and ointments to treat quickly. These are of very low side effects, but if condition deteriorates can see a dermatologist.

4) The side effects of medicine also can be a blister or any sore. So ointments may be used with natural treatments.

5) You can face chapped lips problems in winter for the dryness and cold. Sometimes for excess cold bleeding may happen too. Try to moisturize every day. You can use natural lip balm, coconut oil, Aloe Vera gel to secure the dryness of the lips.

See a Doctor When-

Infection is the critical condition of lip burning sensation. And you can feel the necessity to consult a doctor. Never neglect to consult a doctor when,

· There is bleeding along with the chapped lips for many days

· These are so severe pain that you can’t even open the mouth and take food too.

· Blisters that won’t get cured for long days like 2 weeks, should get the attention.

· The blisters associated with fever should be taken care of and see a doctor.
